Cable Spiking tool is one of the Safety tools used to protect the Electrical workers from any Electrical accident while carrying out cable repair, maintenance, jointing or end termination etc... The cable spiking chisel pierces the sheath of the cable, as well as its insulation, to reach the main conductor. If the cable is powered prior to cutting, an arcing fault is caused by breaking down the insulation. Why are spike tool used? Cable spiking tool is used to ensure that the power cable under maintenance is not live. Cables are spiked with the help of Cable spiking tool and confirm the circuit is not Live. It is one of the very important safety procedure universally followed and the Cables are preliminarily spiked before carrying out jointing or terminating of faulty 11kV/33kV cables. Our Cable spiking tool is intended to prove that any power cable under maintenance is previously disconnected, is dead before starting the work, when these cables are undergoing repair, diversion or maintenance. The design of SAPSONS cable spiking tool is robust and reliable which consist of a hand operated hydraulic pump connected by a hydraulic hose to the hydraulic cylinder. The Cable Spiking chisel which is made of special alloy steel and hardened is connected to the piston of the Hydraulic cylinder. When the cylinder is operated thru the Hydraulic hand pump, the chisel pierce into the cable to reach the conductor. The Cylinder is mounted on a Rectangular shaped tubular steel body which is placed on cable dia and locked with the lower base clamp by threaded steel rods on both the side. A separate earthing cable of approx. 6 mtrs. long crimped at one end with suitable lugs connected with the tool and the other end is having the earthing rod for grounding.

It is a Shaft consist of Inner Core ,Outer casing Motor Coupling and Hand piece. It is designed to penetrate in to the tube inner dia, flexibly even into the bend tubes, without damaging the inner surface of the tube, and capable of transmitting rotary power from the Power unit to the tool head or brush. INNER WIRE CORE is flexible shaft's most important working element. It is designed and constructed to meet power drive operating conditions that include torque, speed, length and minimum bend radius. At the centre of the core is a single wire around which successive multi-stranded layers of wires are wrapped. Each layer is wound in the opposite direction and at right angles to the layer directly beneath it. The direction in which the wire on the outer most layer is wound determines the direction in which the shaft is designed to rotate. OUTER CASTING made of galvanized steel strip and is internally reinforced with antifriction lining to support the wire core and resist the torque. Outer casing does not rotate but protect the inner core and the tube inner dia. HANDPIECE is attached to one end of the shaft, either detachable or fixed type, with threaded spindle to connect tool heads or brushes. MOTOR COUPLING is fitted to the other end of the shaft, either threaded type or shear pin type, connected to the main power unit. Available in 25mm(1”) , 32mm(1.1/4”) and 36mm(1.3/8”) OD with 12mm(1/2”),16mm (5/16”) and 19 mm(3/4”) inner core respectively, with various length of 6 to 22 mtrs. Long.
