SAPSONS HEAVY DUTY HYDRAULIC ACSR CONDUCTOR CUTTER

Sapsons Heavy Duty Hydraulic ACSR Conductor Cutter is a specialized cutting tool designed to cut ACSR (Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced) conductors used in overhead power transmission and distribution lines. ACSR conductors consist of aluminium strands wrapped around a steel core, which makes them very strong and difficult to cut using ordinary cutting tools. The hydraulic cutter uses hydraulic pressure to generate a very high cutting force, allowing the operator to cut thick conductors easily, quickly, and safely. These cutters are widely used by power utilities, electrical contractors, transmission line installers, and maintenance teams for installation and repair work of electrical lines. Working Principle • The cutter works on the hydraulic pressure principle. • The operator pumps the hydraulic handle manually. • Hydraulic oil pressure is generated inside the cylinder. • This pressure pushes a piston connected to the cutting blade. • The blade moves forward and cuts the conductor placed between the jaws. • After cutting, a release valve is opened to return the blade to its original position. Because hydraulic pressure multiplies the applied force, even very thick and hard ACSR conductors can be cut with minimal manual effort. Main Components & Features: • Cutting Head with Special Alloy Steel Jaws: Designed to cut ACSR conductors without flattening them. • Built-in Hydraulic Hand Pump: Provides the necessary hydraulic pressure to actuate the cutting blades, similar to a hydraulic jack. • Epoxiglass Pole/Handle: Insulated handle designed for operator safety and ease of use, enabling work on high-voltage lines. • High-Pressure Hydraulic Hose: Tested to 700 bar working pressure with a minimum burst strength of 15, 000 PSI. • Release Knob-Handle: A mechanism used to control the pump and release hydraulic pressure to open the cutting head after a cut is completed. • Hydraulic Oil (Grade 68): Used in the hydraulic pump for smooth operation. Applications • Used for cutting ACSR (Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced) conductors in overhead power transmission lines. • Widely used in power distribution and transmission line installation work. • Used for maintenance and repair of electrical conductors. • Helpful during substation construction and electrical utility work. • Used by electricity boards, power utilities, and electrical contractors. Advantages • High cutting force due to hydraulic mechanism. • Requires less manual effort compared to normal cutters. • Provides clean and precise cutting of conductors. • Strong and durable construction for heavy-duty use. • Portable and easy to operate at field sites. Safety Precautions • Always wear protective gloves and safety glasses. • Ensure the conductor is properly placed between the blades before cutting. • Do not exceed the maximum cutting capacity of the tool. • Regularly check hydraulic oil and blade condition. • Keep hands away from the cutting area during operation. These tools are suitable for EHV transmission lines and heavy-duty field applications and are specifically engineered for transmission line maintenance, ensuring minimal effort for cutting large conductors
