A pneumatic impact wrench is a power operated tool that operates using compressed air to deliver high torque output. It is mainly used to tighten or loosen nuts and bolts quickly and efficiently. It is also called an air impact wrench.
How It Works
• The tool is connected to an air compressor.
• Compressed air powers an internal air motor.
• Inside the tool, a hammer and anvil mechanism creates rapid, strong rotational impacts.
• These impacts produce high torque, making it easy to remove tight or rusted fasteners.
Types
• Pistol Grip Type – Most common, used in automotive workshops.
• Straight Type – Used for heavy-duty industrial work.
• Mini Impact Wrench – Suitable for tight spaces.
• Twin Hammer Type – Provides higher torque and durability.
Applications
• Automotive repair (wheel nuts removal and tightening)
• Power Plant – GAS and Coal , Refineries and Petro Chemical Plant maintenance
• Heavy equipment maintenance, Heavy Engineering Industries
• Construction of Bridges , Foundation Bolting work etc.
• Industrial assembly operations and General Maintenance
• Important Points
• Torque can be measured in Nm (Newton-meter) , Kg. Mtr or ft-lb (foot-pound).
• Always use impact sockets, not regular sockets.
• Maintain proper air pressure (usually around 90 PSI).
• Regular lubrication is necessary for longer life.
• Use safety gloves and goggles while operating.
• All types of Pneumatic operated Impact wrenches available in SAPSONS range of tools, with 1/4” , 3/8” , 1/2” . 3/4” , 1” and 1.1/2” SQ. Drive and Torque upto 7200 NM.
